Earlier this week, Carlsbad Art Wall (CAW) project curator and founder Bryan Snyder, brought his talents to the mural wall he established in 2015.

Although Snyder has collaborated with other artists on the Art Wall in the past, this is his first time completing it solo.

Bryan Snyder is a Carlsbad native who has been an active creative figure in the Carlsbad Village since returning to his hometown after graduating college in 2005 from the San Francisco Bay Area. Since his return, Snyder has developed a wide range of art events, projects and street installations with the goal of developing a more artistic and creative culture within Carlsbad Village, and promoting local business through creativity.

In CAW's newest mural, Snyder experimented with a new technique replicating his drip art look on a vertical wall with spray paint. His mural captures a young boy playing in the sand that Snyder says "is a design I've painted on canvas and pasted all around the world." He goes on to say that it is "one of my favorite designs about my memory of being a kid growing up here in Carlsbad."

The Carlsbad Art Wall rotates new art every two months alternating between visiting artists and local artists. Snyder curates each artist, documents each mural creation through video and photography and conclude each mural experience on carlsbadcrawl.com through writing, photos and video.

In addition to the CAW, Snyder has collaborated with the Boys and Girls Club of Carlsbad and hosts a bi-monthly teen street art workshop. Since the workshop’s inception in 2016, and continuing today, Snyder teaches teens how to create art using spraycans; teaches them about the current urban art movement, and ultimately inspires local teens to comfortably create art in an urban environment.
