Nearly Three Decades of Creativity at the Coast

Thank you for another year of magic at the 28th Annual Art in the Village!

The Carlsbad Village Association proudly presented the 28th Annual Art in the Village—a vibrant, one-day, open-air celebration of fine art, creativity, and community. This free event returned to the heart of Carlsbad Village on Sunday, June 28, 2026 from 10:00am to 6:00pm for a full day of creativity at the coast.

About the Event

Downtown Carlsbad Village transformed into a dynamic outdoor gallery spanning four blocks, featuring 165 local and regional artists. Attendees explored an impressive array of original works, including paintings, photography, sculpture, glasswork, and more.

Visitors had the opportunity to:

Meet the artists behind the work
Enjoy live artist demonstrations including sculpting by Lieu de Sculpture and painting
Experience live chalk art from Cecelia Linayao and Meg Beverly Canilang as they create vibrant street art throughout the day
Watch a mural come to life by local artist Taylor Gallegos
See first-hand Carlsbad's all solar powered vehicle by Aptera Motors, which is a piece of art in itself

The City of Carlsbad’s Cultural Arts team also hosted a hands-on Pop-Up Art booth—an engaging, family-friendly activity space for all ages.

Main Stage Performances

Thanks to the generosity of our Entertainment Sponsor - Rincon Homes - we had more music than ever this year, adding to the incredible ambiance of this event. The Main Stage featured live performances throughout the day, including special appearances by cast members from Hairspray, currently playing at New Village Arts.

Visitors were also able stop by the Carlsbad Village Music Stage, hosted by Carlsbad Village Music, the Village’s own music school. In addition to live performances by students and instructors, families were able to enjoy interactive, hands-on musical activities designed for kids of all ages.
