On November 28, 2020 come be a part of the 11th annual holiday shopping tradition that brings together communities in support of their favorite small businesses. Find out how you can get in on one of the biggest days for the Shop Small Movement.
Every time you pick up a coffee at your local café, grab lunch at the mom-and-pop shop or buy a new bag from a local store, you're making an impact in your community. In fact, for every dollar spent at a small business in the U.S., approximately 67 cents stays in the local community. Learn more about the Shop Small Movement and why Carlsbad Village Association is proud to back small businesses.
Come celebrate Small Business Saturday in the Village as we boost awareness and support for our local small businesses. Enjoy shopping specials, discounts and merchant hospitality as you “Shop Small.” With holiday music playing throughout downtown Carlsbad, almost every locally-owned store in the area will participate in the “Shop Small” campaign "Small Business Saturday." Detials for the 2020 event will be posted and updated here and on social media too!
DETAILS FROM 2019: Starting at 10:00 am, the Carlsbad Village Association will be handing out 20 Shop Small Tote Bags each hour starting at 10:30 am with the last drawing at 4:30 pm and some mini CVA tote bags too, at the corner of Grand Avenue and State Street. Just look for the Carlsbad Village Association tent by the fountain! You can also enter our "no purchase necessary" Gift Card Giveaway at the CVA booth. CVA will be texting lucky winners every 30 minutes or more to come to claim their gift card from the gift card giveaway tree. Lucky winners will have 30 minutes to return to the booth to claim their prize. Gift cards of $25 or more will be given away from restaurants and retail businesses all throughout the Village.
Thank you to the business who donated gift cards of $25 or more for the Gift Card Giveaway Tree: Aranelle, Handel's Ice Cream, Viz Art Ink Gallery, Humble Olive Oils, Jayden P Boutique, Jayden Presleigh Salon, Market on State, and Axia Payments who contributed on behalf of their Village clients Coyote's Bar & Grill, Garcia's Mexican Restaurant, Mulloy's Fine Jewelry, and Linda's Gift.
Starting at 4 pm, the CVA booth will begin serving hot chocolate, cookies, and candy canes, while holiday music plays in the Village, as you continue shipping, dining, and playing on this special day celebrating small business.
Public parking is plentiful in the Village, and the beach is only two blocks away. Many casual and fine dining establishments are within steps from the venue, as well as shopping at a wide variety of boutiques, salons, and galleries.
