World War II was also fought off America's own coastline, and not just by soldiers. Join New York Times bestselling author of Indianapolis, Sara Vladic, for The Dangerous Shore, the story of how mobsters, volunteer pilots, female codebreakers, and even a Boy Scout helped stop the Nazi U-boat campaign that turned the East Coast into a maritime graveyard. From Operation Drumbeat to the hunt for Nazi saboteurs, it's the story of how a nation, caught unprepared, fought back with everything it had.
