Celebrate 40 years of the Carlsbad 5000, Southern California’s premier 5K and a signature Village tradition. Known as the “World’s Fastest 5K,” this iconic race welcomes all ages and paces to a scenic, oceanfront course through the heart of Carlsbad.
Road Closures:
Closures will be in effect throughout Carlsbad Village and along Coast Highway 101 beginning as early as 4:30 a.m. on race day, with roads reopening on a rolling basis through the afternoon.
Key streets including Carlsbad Boulevard, Carlsbad Village Drive, Grand Avenue, Tamarack Avenue, and Christiansen Way are typically closed from approximately 4:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and consider alternate routes when visiting the Village.
