Carlsbad elementary school students are invited to participate in the 3rd Annual Student Mural Day this weekend with Carlsbad artist and Valley Middle School art teacher, Mr. Bryan Snyder.

Students will help bring a vibrant new mural to life at the Alley Art Wall. The wall will be prepped in advance with a fun, colorful design, and all materials will be provided courtesy of the Alley Art Wall. Young artists simply need to arrive ready to paint, create, and enjoy the experience

“I’m looking to provide a fun and inspiring day for students while also introducing them to my elective art program at Valley Middle School,” Mr. Snyder shared. “The Explore Wheel is a great option for students who want to experience multiple creative classes throughout the school year.”

The Explore Wheel elective is available to all incoming Valley Middle School sixth graders. Students who choose this option will begin by exploring art with Mr. Snyder before rotating into another creative class, giving them the opportunity to discover new interests and creative pathways.

The event takes place at the Alley Art Wall which is a collection of 17 permanent murals along with a dedicated recreational mural space where aspiring artists of all ages can practice their skills and grow their passion for mural painting. Established by Mr. Snyder in 2021, the Alley Art Wall has become a vibrant and inspiring community art destination. The Art Wall is located right next to Village Kabob, at 550 Grand Ave.

The 3rd Annual Student Mural Day is a meaningful opportunity for young artists to express themselves, collaborate with peers, and leave their mark on a lasting piece of public art in Carlsbad.
