This past Saturday, the Heart of the Village Blood Drive was a powerful reminder of the generosity that defines the Carlsbad Village community. In partnership with the San Diego Blood Bank, nearly 100 donors came together to give the gift of life, helping collect 97 units of blood. That generosity has the potential to save up to 291 lives.
Even more inspiring, this effort became the single largest blood drive in the county so far this month. It is a milestone the entire community can be proud of, and a testament to what is possible when neighbors show up for one another.
As a meaningful thank you, each donor received a handcrafted glass heart created by Barrio Glassworks and gifted by the Carlsbad Village Association. These beautiful glass hearts serve as a lasting symbol of compassion, connection, and the life-giving impact of every donation.
A heartfelt thank you to the incredible volunteers who made the day possible. From welcoming donors to supporting every detail behind the scenes, their time and care ensured the event ran smoothly and successfully. This is what community looks like. Generous. United. Full of heart.
