The Heart of the Village Blood Drive Makes a Lifesaving Impact for 42 People

The results are in from Saturday’s Heart of the Village Blood Drive, and while this was a smaller drive, the impact of our community’s generosity was significant. Together, donors contributed 14 units of blood, helping save up to 42 lives in a single day.

We were also especially pleased to welcome six first-time blood donors. Each new donor represents an opportunity to strengthen our local blood supply not only today, but for years to come. We are grateful to those who chose to donate for the first time, as well as our returning donors who continue to make giving blood a priority.

Blood donations are essential to hospitals throughout our region, helping patients facing emergencies, surgeries, serious illnesses and other critical medical needs. Saturday’s drive was a meaningful reminder that every appointment and every donation matters. A relatively small group of people can come together and make an extraordinary difference for patients and families they may never meet.

The Carlsbad Village Association extends a sincere thank-you to everyone who participated, as well as Barrio Glassworks for welcoming the drive and the San Diego Blood Bank for its continued partnership. We appreciate everyone who helped make the day possible.

We are already looking forward to another opportunity to give back. Our next Heart of the Village Blood Drive is scheduled for Saturday, February 13, 2027, when we hope to welcome even more new and returning donors.
