Get ready for an unforgettable evening of artisan spirits, live music, and molten glass magic at Barrio Glassworks’ third annual A Taste of Agave Spirits. Happening this Saturday, May 10th, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM, this lively event blends the craft of glassblowing with the bold flavors of agave, all in the heart of Carlsbad Village.
Attendees will indulge in tastings from Pacific Coast Spirits, an award-winning distillery renowned for its grain-to-glass philosophy. Savor their Agave Spirit and Agave Añejo, both crafted from 100% Blue Weber Agave sourced from Jalisco, Mexico. These spirits offer tasting notes ranging from crisp honey and sweet apple to deep maple and toasted butterscotch, promising a delightful journey for the palate.
Complementing the spirits, enjoy live mariachi music and captivating glassblowing demonstrations by local artists Paul Counts and Logan Groupe. Each guest will receive a handblown “Ocean Flower” shot glass, a testament to the evening’s fusion of art and flavor. Additionally, attendees will have the chance to win a unique glass teapot sculpture by Paul Counts in a special drawing.
Tickets are priced at $65, which includes the full tasting experience, appetizers, live entertainment, and the commemorative shot glass. For those opting out of alcohol, Designated Driver tickets are available for $45, offering all the event’s features minus the spirits. A portion of the proceeds and in-gallery purchases will benefit New Village Arts Theater, supporting local arts initiatives.
Please note: This is not a “blow your own shot glass” event.
