Local Art and Demos at Carlsbad Village Art Hop

Thursday, June 28th - Come celebrate the unique art culture of Carlsbad Village with three great locations featuring artwork from dozens of local and regional artists. Enjoy the local art/photography of Mike Striler at the Foundry, glass blowing by MAK Glass at Viz Art Ink Gallery, and watching sculpture come alive before your eyes at the Village Fair. With live music by Alejandra Koss (Foundry Artists Studios), Evan Diamond (Viz Art Ink Gallery), and the Bad Carls (Village Faire Shopping Center), and refreshments too, you are in for a wonderful evening in the Village.

Each location has so much to offer:

The Foundry Artist Studios at New Village Arts: 2787 State Street
There are 16 resident artists at the Foundry showcasing a wide variety of mediums. Also, Mike Striler will lead participants in an interactive photo colorization project.

Viz Art Ink Gallery: 2906 State Street
The work of over 20 local and regional artists will be on display at Viz Art Ink Gallery. Enjoy watching Max Kropczynski of MAK Glass and his amazing glass blowing talents as he makes jewelry and other pieces of art in front of the gallery.

Village Faire Shopping Center: 300 Carlsbad Village Drive
Stroll the courtyard and visit four pop-up artists in addition to watching several students from Lynn Forbes School of Sculpture create sculpture while you watch. The COAL Art Gallery (Carlsbad-Oceanside Art League), established in 1951, will be showcasing artwork from dozens of local and regional artists in a wide variety of mediums.
