Carlsbad Village is preparing to welcome thousands of visitors for one of its most anticipated annual events: Art in the Village, returning for its 27th year on Sunday, June 22, from 10 AM to 6 PM. With 150 juried artists coming in from all over the U.S. and beyond - including a special guest from Mexico - plus live music, interactive art zones, and near-perfect summer weather in the forecast, this year’s event is shaping up to be one of the best yet.

Learn more about the event from CVA Executive Director, Christine Davis, live on CBS8

Hosted by the Carlsbad Village Association (CVA), this beloved one-day festival transforms the heart of the Village into a vibrant outdoor art gallery. Guests can explore original works across nearly every medium; painting, sculpture, photography, jewelry, ceramics, mixed media, wood, glass, and digital art. Each artist is juried in, making for a high-caliber and inspiring collection.

Beyond the artwork, visitors can take part in live demos, including glassblowing, sculpting, block printing, and pottery wheel throws. Families and budding artists can get creative in the Family Open Studio or contribute to a shared community mural. The popular Chalk Zone will also return, with street artists working live throughout the day.

Live music will fill the Village, with performances on the Main Stage on State Street and Sidewalk musicians performing throughout the festival.

 Main Stage Lineup

  • 11:00 AM — Morgan Leigh Band
High-energy country-pop from American Idol alum Morgan Leigh.
  • 1:30 PM — The Ramblin’ Sweethearts
A toe-tapping mix of retro rockabilly, soul, and blues.
  • 4:00 PM — David Spitzfaden Trio
Blues, funk, R&B, and jazz fusion to close out the evening in style.

All of this takes place just steps from the coast, surrounded by local shops, wine bars, cafés, and restaurants, making Art in the Village a full day out.

Admission is free, parking is available throughout the Village, and public transportation via the nearby Coaster station makes getting here a breeze.

This weekend, come experience the color, creativity, and community spirit that makes Carlsbad’s Art in the Village one of San Diego County’s most cherished summer traditions.
