Art in the Village Brings Downtown Carlsbad to Life with Creativity and Community Spirit

Sunshine, sea breeze, and vibrant creativity filled the streets of Carlsbad Village this past Sunday as thousands came out to celebrate the 27th annual Art in the Village. With more than 150 juried artists from across the U.S., and even Mexico, the event was a joyful reminder of how art brings people together.

Downtown Carlsbad transformed into a dynamic open-air gallery, where visitors explored original paintings, ceramics, photography, glass, woodwork, jewelry, and sculpture. Artists lined State Street and beyond, sharing their stories and creative processes while visitors browsed, connected, and discovered one-of-a-kind pieces to take home.

The experience went far beyond just viewing art. Guests enjoyed live demonstrations throughout the day, from glassblowing and block printing to pottery throwing and figure sculpting. Families got creative at the Family Open Studio, and the popular Chalk Zone once again wowed crowds with colorful pavement masterpieces created in real time.

Live music brought energy and rhythm to the day. Thanks to Rincon Homes, this year’s Main Stage sponsor, the entertainment was a standout feature. The Morgan Leigh Band opened with country-pop favorites, followed by the vintage soul and rockabilly stylings of The Ramblin’ Sweethearts. The David Spitzfaden Trio closed out the day with a lively mix of funk, blues, and jazz fusion. Adding to the atmosphere, acoustic musicians performed throughout the Village, turning the entire downtown into a walkable, musical experience.
