Get ready for a doggone good movie night in the heart of Carlsbad Village. Flicks at the Fountaincontinues this Thursday, July 16, with a free outdoor screening of the beloved family comedy Beethoven (1992), rated PG.

Flicks at the Fountain is a five-week summer movie series that brings families, friends, and neighbors together for free, family-friendly films under the stars. The event takes place every Thursday from July 9 through August 6 in the Fountain Parking Lot at the corner of State Street and Grand Avenue, next to Shorehouse Kitchen at 2833 State Street.

Admission is completely free, and seating opens at 6:00 PM. Movies begin at dusk, typically around 8:00 PM. Guests are encouraged to arrive early and bring low-back chairs and warm blankets. You can pack a picnic or pick up dinner, snacks, or dessert from one of the many nearby Village businesses before settling in for the movie.

The fun begins well before Beethoven appears on the big screen. The Mad Hatters from North Coastal Art Gallery will be on-site starting ag 6PM with a creative activity where children can design and make their own paper bag hats. It is a playful, hands-on way for young moviegoers to get creative while everyone gathers for the evening.

Dinner can come directly to you, too. Knockout Pizza will be on-site taking pizza orders and delivering them right to guests at their seats, making it easy to enjoy dinner without leaving your spot.

This week’s screening is generously sponsored by Hot Dog on a Leash and Carlsbad Neighbors Magazine.

Hot Dog on a Leash is a Carlsbad dog training business staffed by trainers and behavior specialists with more than 15 years of experience working with dogs of all sizes.
