Last week’s Carlsbad 5000 brought its signature energy to the Village, with runners, families, and spectators coming together for a day that celebrates both fitness and community. This year, that spirit carried even further through a meaningful partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad.

As the 2026 charity partner, the organization was set to receive a $5,000 donation to support youth athletics programs. In a generous and heartfelt move, race owner John Smith rounded up the contribution, bringing the total to $6,000.
“We were thrilled to work with the MEB Foundation to raise $6,000 this year at the Carlsbad 5000. The mission of Carlsbad 5000 and the MEB Foundation is to promote youth health and education through fitness and activity. We are pleased to share this money with the Boys and Girls Club of Carlsbad to carry forth that mission, and it is wonderful to support meaningful work right here in our local Carlsbad community.” - the Carlsbad 500 team.
The donation helps the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad expand access to athletics and gives more young people the chance to participate and grow in a positive environment.
It is moments like this that remind us what makes Carlsbad so special. The Carlsbad 5000 is more than a race. It is a reflection of a community that continues to show up for one another.
