Carlsbad Unveils America’s 250th Anniversary Banner Program

A new flag banner program has arrived in Carlsbad to honor and celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence of the United States. The banner program is a function of the Carlsbad Village Association, and the special 250th banners are being put up in partnership with City Hall.

A total of 85 locations throughout the Village and City will display patriotic banners that will remain up through mid-September. There are four designs in total.

These new banners are helping mark a once-in-a-generation anniversary while adding a meaningful visual element to the Village and City streetscape. As a placemaking tool, banners bring color, energy, and identity to Carlsbad. They create a welcoming atmosphere, strengthen community pride, and help tell the story of who we are as a place.  

As communities across the country prepare to recognize 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence, the banners serve as a reminder of the nation’s history and the significance of this milestone anniversary.

Visitors can enjoy the new banners throughout the City and Carlsbad Village in the months ahead as the community joins the broader America 250 commemoration.
