Celebrate Earth Month in Carlsbad: Easy Ways to Get Involved All April Long

April is Earth Month, and the Carlsbad Village Association is proud to share the City of Carlsbad’s lineup of events designed to make sustainable living easy, approachable and even a little fun.

From clearing out unused items to learning new skills and connecting with local green businesses, these events offer simple ways to make a real impact throughout the month.

Here are a few of the events happening:

Donate, Don’t Waste Collection Event

Saturday, April 11, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Shoppes at Carlsbad (southwest parking lot), 2561 El Camino Real

Give your gently used items a second life by donating clothing, small appliances, electronics and more. Donations support local reuse programs through Goodwill. No registration required.

Shred & Recycle It! Event

Saturday, April 11
9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Location provided upon registration

  • Safely shred and recycle sensitive documents. 
  • Bring up to five standard-size boxes of paper. 
  • Advance registration and proof of Carlsbad residency are required (scroll down on the registration page to see additional available time slots).

Fixit Clinic and Repair Event

Saturday, April 25, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Georgina Cole Library, 1250 Carlsbad Village Drive

Learn how to repair household items instead of replacing them. Bring bikes, clothing, small appliances and more for hands-on help from volunteer coaches. Registration preferred, walk-ins welcome.

Electronic Waste Recycling Event

Saturday, April 25, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Georgina Cole Library, 1250 Carlsbad Village Drive

Recycle old electronics responsibly and help keep harmful materials out of landfills.
