Chalk Art in the Village Captures the Final Days of Summer

Carlsbad Village marked the season’s close in vibrant style this past weekend with Chalk Art in the Village, an event that turned the Village Faire Shopping Center courtyard into a colorful outdoor gallery.

Centered around the theme ‘Final Days of Summer’, five talented artists created 4’ x 4’ chalk murals that captured the essence of summer’s fleeting beauty. Each work told a unique story: a whimsical unicorn floaty drifting in a sparkling pool, a mermaid sharing an intimate moment with a gentle sea creature, and playful dogs catching waves. One artist depicted a woman with flowing, wave-like hair in a piece titled She Flows Like Summer, while another captured a serene moment of two people watching the last sunset of the season, a quiet nod to the way summer slips gently into fall. These pieces are more than murals, they are snapshots of joy, imagination, and seasonal nostalgia. All five works will remain on display in the Village Faire Shopping Center courtyard, located at 300 Carlsbad Village Drive through September 14, offering the perfect chance to experience this temporary art installation.
