Dog Waste Bag Stations Now Installed in Downtown Carlsbad

Blog Post - January 12, 2026

Category: What's New

Dog owners in Carlsbad Village now have a convenient way to help keep streets and sidewalks clean: dog waste bag stations have been installed along popular downtown areas to help those who have found themselves on a dog walk without a poop bag when needed.

The request to add dog waste bag stations in the Village to keep the sidewalks cleaner was introduced by a local resident. The effort was coordinated through District 1 Councilmember Melanie Burkholder who approached the Carlsbad Village Association to talk about options, locations, maintenance considerations, and more. The City of Carlsbad made it happen by installing three stations in the community, offering an easy solution for responsible pet care. The stations are stocked with bags and placed in accessible locations to make picking up after pets simple and convenient. They are at:

These new stations support a cleaner, more welcoming environment for residents and visitors who find themselves out in the Village with their four-legged pals without a waste bag. It happens to the best of us. Walking your dog around Downtown Carlsbad is now easier than ever, while helping maintain the charm and beauty of the Village streets we all enjoy!
