Pancakes, Family Fun and a Morning of Giving Back This Saturday at Magee Park

This Saturday, September 19, bring the whole family to Magee Park (258 Beech Ave) for a morning filled with great food, family fun, and plenty of community spirit, all in support of an important local cause.

From 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the Carlsbad Police Department and Richness of Giving will host a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser benefiting Shop with a Cop. This annual program pairs local children in need with law enforcement officers for a memorable day of holiday shopping for gifts and essential items.

Breakfast will include pancakes, eggs, sausage or bacon, fruit, coffee, and juice, prepared and served with help from an incredible group of local businesses. Señor Grubby’s, Mas Fina Cantina, and Kona Craft Café will be cooking breakfast, Baba Coffee will keep the coffee flowing, and Barons Market will serve fresh, homemade orange juice. Guests can also enjoy Handel’s Ice Cream and chicken minis from Chick-fil-A Carlsbad West, along with a special appearance by the Chick-fil-A Cow.

There will be plenty to explore after breakfast, including a Carlsbad Police K9 demonstration and up-close looks at the SWAT BearCat, a vintage police car, and the Carlsbad Police Department Beach Polaris. Families can also enjoy games and activities from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad, safety education and free youth helmet fittings from the Scripps Injury Prevention Team, giveaways from Frontwave Arena, and more.

Army and Navy Academy cadets will present the colors, and guests can take part in a silent auction and opportunity drawing for additional ways to support Shop with a Cop.
