There is something special about exploring Carlsbad Village on foot. The ocean air, the local storefronts, the familiar faces, and, increasingly, the vibrant murals that bring unexpected moments of color and creativity to everyday spaces. The Taylor Gallegos Mural Walk on March 14 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. invites the community to experience the Village in a new way by turning a simple stroll into an immersive art experience.

One of the newest members of the Carlsbad Village Association, Taylor Gallegos has long been part of the creative spirit of Carlsbad. As a locally based artist, his work spans from global brands to the heart of our own Village streets. Here in Carlsbad, his murals can be found at PHES Gallery, Yoga on State, Comman Goods, CBar, Mantra Sukha, Witch Creek, and other local favorites, each piece thoughtfully designed to reflect the character of the space it calls home.

The mural walk features 13 individual murals throughout the Village, each with its own story, style, and sense of place. The experience begins with a casual coffee meetup at Wildland, where participants can connect before heading out together. From there, the group moves through the Village at a relaxed pace, discovering large scale statement pieces and more intimate works tucked into unexpected corners.

This is more than a tour. It is an opportunity to slow down and see familiar streets with fresh perspective. Each stop offers insight into Taylor’s creative process and the inspiration behind the work, transforming walls into conversation pieces and gathering points.

Free and open to the community, the Taylor Gallegos Mural Walk celebrates public art, local business, and the collaborative energy that makes Carlsbad Village so distinctive. It is an invitation to explore, connect, and experience the Village in full color.
