Halloween in the Village Returns October 31 for a Village-Wide Celebration

This year, Halloween in the Village is taking over Carlsbad Village on Halloween itself! On Saturday, October 31, from 11 AM to 4 PM, families can spend the day trick-or-treating from business to business, showing off their best costumes, playing carnival games and discovering Halloween fun throughout the Village.

Start your afternoon at CalRes Homes, 2691 State Street, where the first 250 kiddos can pick up a colorful pumpkin candy bucket, sponsored by CalRes Homes. Then, with buckets in hand, the Halloween adventure begins.

Throughout Carlsbad Village, participating businesses will become official Candy Stops, welcoming costumed kiddos with treats as families make their way around town. Safe trick-or-treating, sponsored by Phoenix Sports, makes it easy to explore the Village while filling those buckets. Just keep an eye out for the special Candy Corn icon displayed in participating business windows to find your next stop.

It’s one of the things that makes Halloween in the Village so much fun. Rather than celebrating in just one location, families can stroll from business to business, collect treats, explore the neighborhood and enjoy Halloween alongside the local businesses that help make our Village special.

Once those candy buckets start filling up, keep the fun going at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad, 3115 Roosevelt Street. Kids can take on indoor and outdoor carnival games, jump in the bounce house and enjoy candy corn and popcorn. There is no entry fee, so families can stop by and join the fun throughout the day.

Then it’s time to see who brought their Halloween costume A-game! The Halloween Costume Contest will take place at Village Faire Shopping Center, 300 Carlsbad Village Drive, with sign-ups beginning at 11:30 AM and the contest taking place from 12 PM to 1 PM.

This year, four winners will be crowned:

• Most Creative or Spookiest, Ages 1–4
• Most Creative or Spookiest, Ages 5–8
• Most Creative or Spookiest, Ages 9–12
• Most Creative or Spookiest Family or Group

Each winner will head home with a basket stuffed with goodies and gift cards, so whether you’re going spooky, silly, clever or completely over-the-top, now is the time to start planning!

Halloween in the Village will also offer ways for more families to comfortably enjoy the celebration. Lily Field Realty will provide sensory-friendly activities and allergy-friendly treats for children who may prefer a quieter or more accommodating Halloween experience.

From the first piece of candy to the final stop of the afternoon, Halloween in the Village is all about getting out, exploring our downtown and celebrating together.
