Hearts of Carlsbad Village: A Week of Community and Giving

Hearts of Carlsbad Village is less than a month away, bringing a full week of celebration, connection, and creativity to downtown Carlsbad. From February 7–14, residents and visitors are invited to explore the Village, discover hidden treasures, support local businesses, and participate in events that truly reflect the heart of the community. But this year we have an ALL NEW FORMAT!

Discover Hidden Glass Hearts

One of the signature features of the event is the 250 handcrafted blown glass hearts, created by Barrio Glassworks that are hidden throughout the Village. From February 7 through 13, participants can stroll the streets, pop into shops, or enjoy local restaurants in hopes of finding one of these unique treasures. Each heart is a little piece of art and a reminder to slow down, explore, and enjoy the Village at your own pace. How is this different this year? A total of 35 hearts will be hidden each day from Saturday, February 7th through Friday, February 13th. In past years there was only one day to search. Now there are seven days to get lucky.

Valentine’s Day Fun and Connection

The celebration culminates on Valentine’s Day, Saturday, February 14th, when two signature experiences bring the community together. First, a Village-wide scavenger hunt invites participants to explore the downtown area in a fun, interactive way. Registered participants who complete the hunt are guaranteed a handcrafted glass heart, making the adventure rewarding for everyone. How is this different this year? Only those who register online, in advance, are able to pick up a scavenger hunt to unlock a 90-minute exploration of the Village. Successful hunters will be given a glass heart upon the completion of the scavenger hunt.

Give Back at the Heart of the Village Blood Drive

Also on Valentine’s Day, the Heart of the Village Blood Drive offers a chance to make a real difference. Those who donate blood will receive a blown glass heart as a thank-you for their life-saving contribution. Interest has been strong, and appointments are already over half full, so early registration is encouraged. It’s a meaningful way to show love for your community while literally helping save lives.
