Help Put State Street Farmers Market in the National Spotlight

The 17th annual America’s Farmers Market Celebration (AFMC) is underway, and Carlsbad’s State Street Farmers Market, a beloved downtown tradition since 1994, is in the running to be recognized as one of the best in the nation.

Hosted by American Farmland Trust, the AFMC is the only annual ranking of the top farmers markets in the United States as voted on by the public. Since 2008, this celebration has highlighted the essential role farmers markets play in building strong communities, supporting small farms, and connecting people to fresh, local food.

The State Street Farmers Market is more than just a place to shop. It is a weekly community gathering that brings together farmers, food makers, and shoppers in a vibrant open-air setting. With its exceptional variety of fresh produce, artisanal goods, hot food vendors, and friendly atmosphere, it has become one of the most loved events in Carlsbad.

Voting runs from August 1 through September 30. In addition to regional recognition, one market will earn the overall People’s Choice title and a $2,500 prize. If we win, the funds will be invested directly back into the market to enhance events, support vendors, and create an even better experience for shoppers.
