Let’s Get the State Street Farmers Market Into California’s Top Three

The State Street Farmers Market is in the running in America’s Farmers Market Celebration, and with our community behind us, we have an opportunity to make a strong showing right here in California. Our goal is a spot among California’s Top Three farmers markets.

Presented by American Farmland Trust, America’s Farmers Market Celebration invites communities across the country to show their support for the farmers markets they value. The annual campaign recognizes markets at the state, regional and national levels while highlighting the important role they play in supporting farmers, strengthening local food systems and bringing communities together.

For more than 30 years, the State Street Farmers Market has brought fresh, locally grown produce and artisan food products to the heart of Carlsbad Village every Wednesday. It has become a weekly tradition built around the farmers, food makers and loyal shoppers who continue to make the market what it is today. Now, we have a chance to put that community support behind the market in a new way.

There is another important reason we would love to finish strong. America’s Farmers Market Celebration includes $15,000 in awards for winning markets. Any award funds received by the State Street Farmers Market would be reinvested directly into the market, providing additional resources to support and enhance it for our vendors and marketgoers.
