Live Podcast Series Featuring Local Creatives Comes to Carlsbad Village

A new live event series is coming to Carlsbad Village, giving the community the chance to hear honest, inspiring conversations from local creatives who have turned their passion into a career.
Hosted by Carlsbad artist and CVA member, Taylor Gallegos, Making It Live is a series of live podcast recordings where audience members can experience the interviews in person while enjoying a relaxed evening at fellow CVA member Hammy’s (formerly Witch Creek Winery).
Each event will feature a different local guest sharing the real story behind their creative journey, including the successes, challenges, risks, and moments that helped shape their path. Guests range from artists and photographers to business owners and community leaders, all with strong ties to the Carlsbad creative community.
The series is an extension of Taylor’s Making It Podcast, which has produced more than 115 episodes over the past five years and can be found on YouTube and major podcast streaming platforms. While the podcast is typically listened to online, this new format allows attendees to be part of the experience live and in person.
In addition to the live interview, guests can enjoy food from local vendors, drinks available for purchase, and a welcoming community atmosphere designed to encourage connection and conversation.
The upcoming lineup includes:
- May 12: Bryan Snyder, muralist and art teacher
- May 18: DeAnn Dillard of Carlsbad Magazine and local real estate professional
- June 3: Melanie Roberts, photographer
- June 24: Clinton Prager of Prager Brothers Artisan Breads
All events will take place from 6:00–9:00 PM at Hammy’s in Carlsbad Village, with doors opening at 6:00 PM. Admission is free with early registration and $5 at the door.
