Marine Toys for Tots Donation Drive Thru Was a Great Success

On Saturday, December 5th, the Marines came to town and left with two vehicles filled to the brim with toys, bikes and more. Sponsored by CVA member Chanel Bennett, a First Team Real Estate agent, the Pfeifer Team, also from First Team, the Throtl Ice Cream truck, and with Big Pig Liquor generously offering up their parking lot for the toy collection, the Toys for Tots Donation Drive Thru was a great success.

While any number of toys would have been a blessing, this Toys for Tots Donation Drive Thru collected over eight boxes and required two vehicles to transport them back to Camp Pendleton.

At Christmas, Toys for Tots coordinators, with the assistance of local social welfare agencies, church groups, and other local community agencies, distribute the toys to the less fortunate children of the community.  Over the years, Marines have established close working relationships with social welfare agencies, churches and other local community agencies which are well qualified to identify the needy children in the community and play important roles in the distribution of the toys.
