Nick’s on State Takes Home Both Best Bite Awards at Taste of Carlsbad Village 2026

One restaurant, two winning dishes! Nick’s on State has plenty to celebrate after taking home both Best Savory Bite and Best Sweet Bite at the 9th Annual Taste of Carlsbad Village.

Following the October 8 event, attendees voted for their favorite signature dishes from participating restaurants, and Nick’s on State came out on top in both categories!

Their Maple Chipotle Meatloaf, served with whipped potatoes, pearl onions, carrots, and asparagus, earned the title of Best Savory Bite. For dessert, their Warm Butter Cake with Fresh Berry Compote won over guests and secured the Best Sweet Bite award.

A History of Great Food and Hospitality

In May 2022, Nick’s on State opened in the heart of Carlsbad Village, quickly becoming a favorite among locals and visitors. Located in State Street Commons, the restaurant combines an upscale yet relaxed atmosphere with a menu of familiar favorites, including fresh seafood, steaks, salads, sandwiches, and house specialties.

With its exhibition kitchen, island bar, and spacious covered patio, Nick’s has become a popular destination for lunch, dinner, and special occasions. The restaurant has also been a dedicated participant in Taste of Carlsbad Village since opening, sharing its culinary talents with the community year after year.
