Pancakes with a Purpose: Support Shop with a Cop at Magee Park

A morning of pancakes, family fun, and community connection is coming to Carlsbad Village! Join the Carlsbad Police Department and Richness of Giving on Saturday, September 19, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Magee Park (258 Beech Avenue) for a pancake breakfast fundraiser. Proceeds benefitShop with a Cop, an annual program that pairs children in need with local law enforcement officers for a memorable day of holiday fun and shopping for gifts and essentials. By attending the breakfast, you’ll help brighten a child’s holiday season while supporting positive connections between local children and police officers.

Breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, sausage or bacon, fruit, coffee, and juice, with local favorites Señor Grubby’s, Mas Fina Cantina, and Kona Craft Café helping prepare the meal. Baba Coffee will keep the coffee flowing, while Barons Market joins the festivities with fresh, homemade orange juice. Guests can also enjoy cones from Handel’s Ice Cream and chicken minis from Chick-fil-A Carlsbad West, whose familiar Cow mascot will be making an appearance.

The fun continues beyond the breakfast table, with a K9 demonstration and opportunities to get a closer look at a SWAT BearCat, vintage police car, and Carlsbad Police Department Beach Polaris. Music and a presentation of the colors by Army and Navy Academy cadets will add to the morning’s activities.

Families can also visit the Scripps Injury Prevention Team for safety education, free youth helmets, and fittings. The Boys & Girls Club will provide games and activities for children, Frontwave Arena will bring giveaways and swag, and Mission Federal Credit Union’s Village Branch will be on hand to connect with the community.

This year’s event welcomes The Lund Team as its first-time title sponsor, joining a generous group of local businesses and community partners helping bring the fundraiser to life. A silent auction and opportunity drawing offer additional ways to participate and support Shop with a Cop.
