The Carlsbad Village Street Faire returns this Sunday, November 1, bringing thousands of visitors to downtown Carlsbad for one of the largest one-day street faires in the nation. With a busy day ahead, residents, businesses, and visitors are encouraged to plan ahead for temporary road closures, increased traffic, and limited parking throughout the Village.
The faire, hosted by the Carlsbad Chamber of Commerce, runs from 8am to 4pm. To accommodate the event, several downtown streets will be closed from approximately 4am to 8pm on Sunday, November 1, including:
- Grand Avenue: Carlsbad Boulevard to Jefferson Street
- Washington Street: Carlsbad Village Drive to Christiansen Way
- State Street: Carlsbad Village Drive to Beech Avenue
- Roosevelt Street: Carlsbad Village Drive to Beech Avenue
- Madison Street: Carlsbad Village Drive to just south of Arbuckle Place
- Christiansen Way: State Street to the east side of the COASTER station entrance
- Additional closures: Alleys within the affected area and the Oak Avenue public parking lot
Visitors are encouraged to allow extra travel time and consider alternative transportation. Complimentary shuttle service will run approximately every 15 minutes from The Shoppes at Carlsbad and the Poinsettia COASTER Station, making it easier to enjoy the festivities without navigating downtown parking. Those biking to the Village can use available bike racks, although bike valet service will not be offered this year.
Enjoy a Day in the Village
Once you arrive, there’s plenty to look forward to! The Street Faire features hundreds of vendors offering arts and crafts, unique gifts, clothing, jewelry, and more, along with international food, live entertainment, a beer garden, and activities for the whole family.
While exploring the faire, be sure to visit the Village’s local restaurants, boutiques, and businesses. It’s a wonderful opportunity to support our downtown community while enjoying one of Carlsbad’s favorite traditions.
