Iconic Musical RENT Moves into NVA This Holiday Season

This fall, New Village Arts brings one of Broadway’s most powerful and beloved musicals to Carlsbad Village. RENT, the groundbreaking rock musical by Jonathan Larson, runs October 31 through December 24, 2025, at the Dea Hurston New Village Arts Center.

Directed by Kym Pappas, with music direction by Elena Correia and choreography by Tamara Rodriguez, this bold reimagining captures the energy, emotion, and urgency that made RENT a cultural phenomenon. Set in New York’s East Village in the 1990s, the story follows a close-knit group of friends who face love, loss, and hope during a time of great social change.
