Save the Date: Summer Community Clean-Up Returns to Carlsbad Village on July 12!

Carlsbad Village’s first clean-up of the summer is almost here, and we’d love for you to be part of it.

Join us on Saturday, July 12, from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, as we meet outside Pure Project Carlsbad (2825 State Street) for another community clean-up. Whether you’ve volunteered before or are thinking about giving it a try, this is a fun, simple way to give back and help keep the Village looking its best.

At our last clean-up in May, nearly 140 volunteers came together under sunny skies and collected an impressive 326 pounds of trash. That brings our all-time total to 3,801 pounds and now we’re aiming for the next big milestone: 4,000 pounds. With a strong turnout in July, we’re confident we can get there.

As always, we’ll have gloves, grabbers, and buckets available while supplies last, but if you have your own gear, feel free to bring it. It’s a great way to help us cut down on waste and keep things sustainable.

We’re also rolling out a small update to how our clean-up perks work. Going forward, volunteers who collect two pounds or more of trash will receive the post-clean-up rewards, which include a scoop of ice cream from Handel’s, coffee discounts at Baba Coffee, and $1 off a pint at Pure Project. It’s our way of saying thank you to those who dig in and help make an impact.

And don’t forget - the Trash Champion Contest is underway. Every clean-up you attend brings you one step closer to winning six months of free trash service from Republic Services, or a prize of equal value. The top individual or team at the end of 2025 will take the title.

Clean-ups take place every other month and continue to grow thanks to passionate, community-minded volunteers like you. So mark your calendar, invite a friend, and come spend the morning with us.
