Carlsbad Village is built on the hard work, creativity, and dedication of its small businesses. On Small Business Saturday, November 29, the community is invited to spend the day in the Village supporting the locally owned shops and restaurants that help our downtown thrive. Many businesses will be offering special promotions throughout the day, making it a great opportunity to explore, shop, dine, and enjoy the start of the holiday season.
The Carlsbad Village Association (CVA) will host a celebration booth at the corner of Grand Avenue and State Street beginning at 11:00 AM. The first 100 visitors will receive a complimentary canvas tote bag while supplies last, provided in partnership with the City of Carlsbad. At the booth, guests can also pick up a free drawing ticket for our Giveaway Tree. No purchase is necessary. Simply write your phone number on the ticket and drop it in the bowl. Drawings will take place every 30 minutes between 11:30 AM and 3:30 PM, and winners will be notified by text. Winners must return to the booth within 30 minutes to claim their prize.
This year’s Gift Card Giveaway Tree is made possible through donations from generous Village businesses. In addition, CVA has purchased gift cards from every restaurant that participated in Taste of Carlsbad Village as a thank you for their ongoing support. These cards will also be part of the prize pool.
Have some fun with our Village Scavenger Hunt and receive an additional entry into the Grand Prize drawing for a complimentary overnight stay at Beach Terrace Inn. Participation details will be available at the CVA Booth beginning at 11:00 am.
CVA has also teamed up with Barrio Glassworks and Pure Project again this year for a special Village treasure hunt experience. Barrio Glassworks will hand-blow ten custom pint glasses that will be hidden inside ten local Village businesses. Clues and riddles guiding participants to the hidden glasses will be released closer to the event date, offering a playful way to explore the Village and discover new businesses.
Live holiday music will also be featured throughout the day, including classic piano selections from Robert Parker and a vocal performance by Marissa McRoberts.
