Support Local and Celebrate Small Business Saturday in Carlsbad Village

Small Business Saturday returns to Carlsbad Village on Saturday, November 29, and the Carlsbad Village Association invites the community to spend the day shopping, dining, exploring, and celebrating the locally owned businesses that make our downtown unique. With giveaways, holiday music, special promotions, a scavenger hunt, and returning favorites like the hidden pint glass experience, it is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season while supporting the people who keep the Village thriving.

A Welcoming Start to the Day

Beginning at 11:00 AM, visitors can stop by the Carlsbad Village Association booth at the corner of Grand Avenue and State Street. The first 100 guests will receive a complimentary recycled canvas tote bag courtesy of the City of Carlsbad. Visitors may also pick up a free drawing ticket for the popular Gift Card Giveaway Tree, featuring approximately $2,000 in restaurant and retail gift cards donated by Village businesses. CVA has also added gift cards purchased from restaurants that participated in Taste of Carlsbad Village as a thank you for their support. Drawing tickets will be pulled every 30 minutes from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM, and winners will be notified by text. All prizes must be claimed at the booth by 4:00 PM.

Explore, Play and Win

The Village Scavenger Hunt is back again this year, giving participants the opportunity to be entered into the Grand Prize drawing for a complimentary overnight stay at Beach Terrace Inn. Participation details will be available at the CVA booth on event day, with Beach Terrace providing an additional entry opportunity through a fun photo moment at the property.

Another returning favorite is the pint glass treasure hunt, created in partnership with Barrio Glassworks and Pure Project. Ten custom hand blown pint glasses will be hidden inside ten Village businesses. Clues and riddles will be released closer to the date, inviting shoppers to discover new places while searching for one of the limited edition glasses.

Holiday Tunes Throughout the Village

Live holiday music will set the tone for the day. Pianist Robert Parker will play classic holiday selections from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by vocalist Marisa McRoberts performing from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM. The music will add to the festive atmosphere for shoppers and diners heading through the Village.

Many Village businesses will offer seasonal specials and promotions to celebrate Small Business Saturday. It is the perfect opportunity to support local businesses while beginning holiday shopping or enjoying a day out with friends and family.
