The Hearts of Carlsbad Village heart hunt is officially underway and will continue through Friday, February 13. Throughout the week, Carlsbad Village has been buzzing with visitors enjoying the simple joy of exploring downtown while discovering handcrafted glass hearts hidden in plain sight.

The heart hunt was created to encourage people to experience the Village as a whole - supporting local businesses, enjoying a meal, and spending time outdoors - while adding an element of surprise along the way. The hearts are placed during typical business hours 11:00 a.m. - 5 p.m. and are meant to be found naturally as part of a relaxed, enjoyable visit to the Village.

About the Heart Hunt

As you walk through Carlsbad Village, hearts may appear near storefronts, planters, benches, or other pedestrian-friendly areas. Each placement is carefully chosen to be safe, accessible, and respectful of surrounding businesses and property. The experience is intentionally designed to feel organic, rewarding those who take time to explore rather than rush from place to place.

Guidelines for a Positive Experience

To ensure the heart hunt remains enjoyable for everyone and can continue in future years, participants are asked to follow a few important guidelines:

• Please take only one heart per person. This allows as many people as possible to share in the experience.
• Please do not follow volunteers or wait for hearts to be placed. Hearts are distributed throughout the day to keep the experience fair and spontaneous.
