Get ready for a frightfully fun afternoon because Halloween in the Village is almost here! On Saturday, October 25, Carlsbad Village will transform into a Halloween hotspot filled with candy, costumes, games, and activities that make it one of the most beloved fall traditions for families across the community. Whether your little pumpkins are eager to fill their treat bags or excited to show off their creative costumes, this event is packed with Halloween magic from start to finish.

The afternoon kicks off at 2:00 PM at the Carlsbad Village Association (2697 State Street), where the first 200 costumed kids can design and decorate their own Halloween-themed canvas trick-or-treat bags at no cost. Once they’re ready, families can set off on a candy-collecting adventure through the Village, stopping by local businesses offering sweet treats. Keep an eye out for the candy corn icon in storefront windows, and check the website closer to the event for the official trick-or-treating map to help plan your route.

From there, the Halloween fun just keeps going. The Boys and Girls Club of Carlsbad Village (3115 Roosevelt St.) will host a free carnival from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM with classic games, a bounce house, and seasonal snacks that kids will love. At the Village Faire Shopping Center (300 Carlsbad Village Dr.), families can enjoy more trick-or-treating and live music before gathering for the always-exciting costume contest at 4:00 PM. Awards will be given for the most creative and spookiest looks across multiple age groups, so come dressed to impress.

Halloween in the Village is designed to be inclusive and welcoming for all. From 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Lily Field Realty (2965 Roosevelt St.) will offer non-food treats, outdoor games, and a quiet indoor Calm Zone for those who need a sensory break. Handled Pottery (390 Oak Ave.) will also host a Sensory Friendly Zone with crafts, photo ops, and treats in a relaxed and supportive environment.

With decorated treat bags, carnival excitement, costume competitions, and endless candy, this family-friendly celebration is the perfect way for kids to enjoy Halloween close to home. Whether they’re trick-or-treating from shop to shop, showing off their spooky style, or enjoying games and activities with friends, the Village is the place to be this Halloween.

Local businesses can still get involved too. If your business is located within Carlsbad Village and you’d like to participate as an official candy stop, contact Chanel at Chanel@carlsbad-village.com to be included on this year’s map.
