Costumes ready? Candy buckets waiting? Halloween in the Village is just days away, and it looks like the rain is staying away, too! This Saturday, October 31, Carlsbad Village will come alive with trick-or-treating, costume contests, carnival games and plenty of Halloween fun for the whole family.
With activities happening throughout downtown from 11 AM to 3 PM, we’ve put together a little play-by-play to help you make the most of this year’s celebration. Grab your favorite little ghosts and goblins, put on those costumes and get ready to explore!

11 AM: Grab Your Candy Bucket and Hit the Village
Start your Halloween adventure at CalRes Homes, located at 2691 State Street, where the first 250 children can pick up a complimentary colorful pumpkin candy bucket, while supplies last.
Then, let the trick-or-treating begin! From 11 AM to 3 PM, participating businesses throughout Carlsbad Village will welcome costumed visitors for safe, business-to-business trick-or-treating. Look for the official Candy Corn icons displayed in storefront windows to find your next sweet stop. Safe trick-or-treating throughout the Village is sponsored by Phoenix Sports and Le Papagayo Carlsbad.
Click here to view the official Candy Stop map and start planning your route. With businesses throughout the Village joining in, there will be plenty of opportunities to fill those buckets while supporting our local businesses.

11 AM–3 PM: Carnival Games and Halloween Fun
Make your way to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Carlsbad, located at 3115 Roosevelt Street, for even more Halloween excitement. Families can enjoy indoor and outdoor carnival games, a bounce house, candy corn, popcorn and more. Best of all, admission is free!
It’s a great stop to work into your trick-or-treating route and give the kiddos another way to celebrate.

11:30 AM: Get Ready for the Costume Contest
Head to Village Faire Shopping Center, located at 300 Carlsbad Village Drive, where costume contest registration begins at 11:30 AM.
The contest takes place from 12 PM to 1 PM, giving little monsters, superheroes, princesses and creative families a chance to take center stage. Four winners will be selected across age and family or group categories, with each receiving a basket filled with goodies and gift cards.
Whether you’re entering or cheering from the sidelines, this is one Halloween tradition you won’t want to miss!

Throughout the Day: A Halloween Experience for Everyone
Families seeking a more sensory-friendly Halloween experience can stop by Lily Field Realty, located at 2965 Roosevelt Street, for allergy-friendly treats and sensory-friendly activities.
With so much happening within walking distance, Halloween in the Village is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a festive afternoon downtown. Stop for a bite to eat, visit your favorite local shops and discover a few new businesses along the way.
